Also used in the movie were a 1973 Torino body mounted on
the Mic Rig, and
this 1975 Gran Torino which was used as a tow car (pulled behind a camera vehicle).
This car has since been purchased by the Volo Auto Museum in Volo, Illinois.
The Volo Auto Museum owns MANY cool movie cars!
As you can see, the bumpers and interior of this car are different from the cars you see
in the movie, but just as it doesn't matter if a stunt double's face doesn't look exactly
like a movie star's face, THIS car would only be partially seen in the movie, so those
minor differences from the "hero" cars wouldn't matter - you'll never see them on screen.
Thanks to Brian at the Volo Auto Museum for
sharing these pictures.
I look forward to seeing the car in person someday - and so should you!
