Ville P.'s 1974 Ford Gran Torino
Sport®
"Starsky & Hutch"®Replica

|
| As a small boy in the early 1980s, Ville got permission
from his mother to stay up a bit later than usual on Saturday evenings to watch "Starsky & Hutch"
on Finnish TV, and, like many boys and men across the world, he dreamed of having a car like Starsky's. Like many
of us, he eventually had a remote control toy Torino and a few small scale models. Ville says the dream might have
fainted a bit as he grew older, but it was always there. When the TV series DVD box sets
were released, he says, the dream woke up again, "big time." |

| Ville began looking for a Torino For Sale on this web site
and had a lot of help from his cousin, Mark, who lives in Detroit, Michigan. Together, they looked for almost a
year for a good condition Gran Torino. In June 2007, they found this one which was located in Washington State.
It is a 1974 Ford Gran Torino Sport with a 460 Big Block engine, 4-barrel carburetor, C6 Rock Crusher transmission,
14" 1970s slotted mags, and dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. It had just been painted "Starsky
& Hutch" style, in 2B Bright Red and White with a black pinstripe. It had originally had beige vinyl interior,
but that had been refurbished to black vinyl. |

| With the help of Cousin Mark, who made the arrangements
and small adjustments to the car, the car arrived in Finland late February 2008, and has attracted a lot of attention
in the small time it has spent on the streets of Helsinki. People give Ville the thumbs up and wave all the time.
It is the first "Starsky & Hutch" car in Finland, to the best of our knowledge. It was on display
in the American Car Show, held in late March, 2008, in the Helsinki Exhibition Center. Ville says he still has
things to do to the car in order to have it approved and registered in Finland. |

Ville changed the original 14" slotted mags and
tires, so the car now has 15"x8" American Racing Ansen Sprint rims with BF Goodrich Radial TA tires,
235/60/15 in front and 255/60/15 in the rear. And of course, it has a teardrop police light.
Ville thanks his cousin, Mark, for all the help and for making his lifelong dream come true!
Ville's car is one of two S&H Torinos in Scandinavia - the other is Ted G.'s in Norway. |
