Pictured in 1999, this car from the series is now owned by Rich M.
This car sat in the hot Arizona sun for 15 years, so it needs re-
painting and the interior needs replacing. It has a 351 engine now.

Gordon W. bought the 1975 Torino in this Polaroid from
Spelling Goldberg Productions in 1979.
Judging by the red mirrors, it must be from Season One.
Which stripe is cooler, the one on the car or
those on Gordon's little sister's socks?!

John M. purchased this car in 2000 and has since restored it.
John says this car was leased to Spelling Goldberg Productions.
Known as "Unit 129" John says it was used as a "backup" car late
in 1977 and all of 1978 and '79 (the 2nd - 4th seasons of the show).

Torino from the episode Partners

Torino from the episode Partners

This is the Stunt Torino used in the third season episode "Partner" -
it is the car that Starsky crashes into the construction site,
resulting in Hutch suffering from "amnesia" throughout the episode.
Watch the crash scene in slow motion, and you'll see the round "sport"
emblem on the grille, the chrome molding in front of the front wheels, and the
red mirrors - all these are different than they are earlier in the episode!
Hey - no stunt double looks
exactly like the real star!

The stunt car is a '74 Gran Torino Sport, with a 351 Cleveland
and 32,000 original miles. It has been fully restored, and lived
in New Jersey when these photos were taken in 1999.
