| After waiting about 15 years, Mike
told me, he was finally fortunate enough to purchase a one-owner, all original "Starsky & Hutch"
Ford Gran Torino in 2006. His friend's dad bought the car new in Belle Plaine, Iowa, at Bevins Ford. Mike's dad
worked at Bevins Ford and remembers this car when it was brand new and first came in to the dealer. When Frank's
buddy turned 16, his dad gave him the car, and the two guys cruised and tore up all the surrounding towns. The
car was parked in 1991 when the transmission went out. Mike patiently waited and tried to buy the car yearly, and
now he finally owns it. The car is still wearing its original paint and original interior, and still has the original
351 in it. The car does need to be restored, but is complete and all original. It has the DSO number ending with
0022 on driver's door jamb data sticker and the plate on passenger side cowl. |

| Mike says he will definitely keep the
car as original as possible when he restores it, and he might just drive it the way it is for now to show people
the originality of the car. The original paint still shines good for being 30 years old, he says. The car has the
original Magnum 500 rims, but Mike has a set of slotted mags to give it the true "Starsky" look someday. |

| A while after the first time he contacted
me, Mike wrote again and said he had great news. He had removed the back seat bench and found an original build
sheet was still in the springs under the mesh. It was a pain to get at, but after 20 minutes he got it out all
in one piece! When he has it running again, Mike's S&H Torino will make a nice companion to his other Star
Car, a replica of the A-Team Van! |
