Joe bought this car through eBay in 2008 from Doug D. in Virginia, who first listed it here on this site in 2005. As you'll see below, the car was originally dark green with tan interior, opera windows, and fender skirts (eew). The engine is a 351 Windsor and has been "beefed up" with performance parts including a nice Edelbrock carb, new heads, a mild cam, and was bored over. It also has Ford racing valve covers and Hooker headers. When the car arrived in Colorado, there were a few minor items that Joe had to have repaired, and the engine had to be tweaked to compensate for the altitude. Joe also opened up the hood scoop to make it functional.

Joe says, "this is the Dream Car for me. I have wanted one ever since the show was on TV. I remember a Ford dealer right by our house that had two sitting on the lawn for about a month. 30+ years later, I have one in my garage."

This car has only had two previous owners. Doug, the owner prior to Joe, had the car painted Dodge Viper Red with six coats of clear. Doug taped off the stripe by looking at pictures and making it the way he thought it would look the best. He "had to have" a '72 Torino hood scoop "to make her look fast." Doug didn't want the interior to be like all the other S&H Torinos, so he went with red interior with black trim (very cool - a few original factory S&H Torinos came with something similar). The new seats are electric leather bucket seats out of a Mazda. The center console came out of a Lincoln. Doug added a CD player with an Alpine amplifier.

The car has 275/60/15 Dunlop tires on the rear, and 235/60/15s on the front. It has air shocks on the rear. As I said to the previous owner, I appreciate him deciding not to keep the fender skirts - I don't think the world is ready to see a S&H Torino with those! :-)
