"After a long time," Francesco says, "I finally realized my best-loved dream! Since I was a child, I've wanted to create a copy of Starsky's car. When I was a child watching TV, I told my mother, 'Someday I'll became a policeman and drive a car like that!'"

"I found this car thanks to my best friend who works at an American car dealer in Italy," he says. "It was good-looking for its age! It had 74,000 miles on it and a 351 engine. It had the gear shifter on the steering column like the cars in the TV series."

Francesco dismantled every piece of his car one by one to re-build it as Starsky's car. "Day by day I built my dream - that's incredible!" he says. "I spent 4 months of my life, night and day. My family and my girlfriend only know the great drama that I went through. Now it is not a dream but reality. The waiting was worth it!"

Francesco says the car still needs trim and some other details, but he's done a lot of work in his first four months, and there will be plenty of time to work out the little details.

Francesco is looking for bigger tires and the original TV-show style slotted mag rims. Then he'll build the suspension up - but, he says, "that's all for the moment because I want drive it!" Francesco says, "I am 30 years old and my job is the same as Starsky's, I drive a Ford Gran Torino - oh yes!" I love his enthusiasm, don't you? I hope all of us who are fortunate enough to own a S&H Torino never get bored with them, but stay as excited as Francesco!
