Shane B.'s 1976 Ford Gran Torino® |

| Shane's dad, Chuck, brought this 1976 Gran Torino to the Carlisle All-Ford Nationals in June of 2008 and we took the opportunity to shoot some new photos of the car which was sporting a brand new paint job done by Chuck himself. This is one of two S&H Torinos Chuck and his sons C.J. and Shane own. There's a link to the other one's page at the bottom of this page. Be sure to check out all these photos before you go see the other one. | ||||||

| Chuck is one of several guys from the Joisey/Philly area who frequent the All-Ford Nationals, sometimes bringing Shane and C.J. along to join the fun. He's a great guy, and has a great car to match. This year the car was proudly displayed under the S&H Torino Owners' tent, a great representation of the group as a whole. 12 S&H Torinos were there - if you own one, why wasn't yours? Well, okay, I hope we'll see you next year! | ||||||

| If you look very closely at the upper photos, you'll see a clutch next to the brake, and a 4 speed shifter on the floor. This is Chuck's custom work, as Gran Torinos only came with 3 speed automatics in 1976. There's a Monster 460 engine on the other end of the gas pedal, so don't challenge this car at the stop light, you'll just go home cryin' to your mamma if you do! | ||||||

| As long as we've got your attention, take a minute
to look at the photos of this BLUE S&H Torino replica and read the info below - Chuck is trying to find out
what happened to this car he once owned. I'll let him tell you the story behind it: "I owned this 1976 Ford Gran Torino from 1983-1987. I would have to assume that it was a dealer-installed stripe on factory blue paint. It had a 460, C-6, automatic on the floor, factory air conditioning, deluxe dome light, locking hood release, plush carpet, and bucket seats with center console. The interior of the car was blue and white - seats and headliner were white; door panels, dash, console and carpet were blue. When I sold this car it had Cragar SS wheel on it. I kept the wheels you see in the pictures for the car I have now. This car was in excellent shape for a daily driver and very reliable. Everything on the car was factory original and in good shape. The left rear quarter panel just in front of the tail light had a dent from the previous owner that I had banged out with a hammer. The driver's seat had a 6-inch rip in the middle of it, at the seam. This car had a 4 barrel carburetor, dual exhaust, and a posi rear end. It had the factory air cleaner and valve covers on it when I sold it. I sold the car to a guy with long hair from North East Philadelphia. When he was taking delivery of the car, the guy said to me he was going to paint the car red with a white stripe. I would love to know what happened to this car. I've never heard of it or seen it since. The blue and white Torino on your web site that's in New Jersey is not it." If you have any information about this Torino, especially its current location, please email me and I'll pass the information on to Chuck - THANKS! |
