Chris B.'s 1976 Limited Production
and TV Show-Used
"Starsky & Hutch"®Ford
Gran Torino®
| Chris bought this car in 2007 from John M., under whose
name it has been listed here for many years. It is one of the Limited Production S&H Torinos built by Ford
in the Spring of 1976 - and one of the earliest ones built. It has a 429 4 bbl. in it, but was built with a 351
according to the VIN. |
| According to the previous owner, this car was leased
to Spelling Goldberg Productions, and the car comes with a check stub from them with the car's description on it.
Known as "Unit 129," it was used as a "backup" car late in 1977 and all of 1978 and '79 (the
2nd - 4th seasons of the show). This information from a previous owner of the car, Buddy Loesch, who worked in
the TV show's Transportation Department. Buddy's son, Jerad, now carries on the legacy - go see what I mean. |
| I don't have much new information about this car, but
I'm sure Chris will have many adventures with it and will share them with us here. All I know for sure is that
anyone who lets his dog ride in his S&H Torino is okay in my book! |
