Arthur J.'s 1974 Ford Gran Torino®
"Starsky & Hutch"®Replica

|
| We met Arthur and Mrs. J. at a Starsky
Torino reunion in the Wisconsin Dells in May, 2005, where they came without their car just to visit. They sent
us photos of their car in August of 2005, and we finally got to see it in person at our Starsky Torino reunion
in September. These new photos were taken at the Chicagoland Emergency Vehicle Show in North Aurora, Illinois in
August of 2006. |

|
| Arthur has been a fan of the TV show
forever. He had a green Torino over 25 years ago. He wanted another one for a long time, and found this one in
Kenosha, Wisconsin in 2004. It was originally brown, and he gave it the Starsky treatment himself! |
|
|
| Arthur won the trophy for "Best
On-Screen Emergency Vehicle" in this show against some pretty tough competition - and he deserved it! Although
he'll tell you he has more work to do, I know he's done a lot in the last couple of years, and his car looks great! |
|
|
| Arthur replaced the original brown
door panels, carpet, and dash in 2005, and replaced the brown bench seat with these re-upholstered black buckets
later. That was a lot of work, but the final product really looks good! |

|
| Arthur has a great car - and he's a great guy. I've
met a lot of S&H Torino owners in the last 8 years, and they are all very nice people, but Arthur is one of
the ones who you meet and you immediately feel like you've been friends with all your life. In fact, when I updated
this page in 2006 and was reading the old information, I could hardly believe I had met Arthur just one year ago! |

I'm sorry to say that Arthur Jackson died on Tuesday,
July 13, 2010. He would have been just 51 years old in another month.
We first met Arthur at the Wisconsin Dells S&H Torino Reunion in 2005, and he attended reunions regularly every
year since then. Arthur talked on the phone and met often with many S&H Torino owners, becoming like family
to all of them. Everyone who met Arthur instantly became his friend. One owner said of Arthur this week, "I
have personally never met a man as genuine as Arthur was. He would do anything for a friend." Another said,
"When you talked to him, Arthur would truly listen, remember what you said, and follow through later. He went
out of his way to do special things like give us T-shirts with our S&H Torino reunion photos on them. He regularly
called other S&H Torino owners to wish them well on holidays. He was a very special guy and a friend to us
all."
Arthur was almost as big a fan of "Starsky & Hutch" and his S&H Torino as he was of the Chicago
Cubs.
S&H Torinos from all over the Midwest drove in Arthur's funeral procession in Dolton, Illinois on Saturday,
July 17, to honor Arthur's memory and to support his wife and family. On September 24-26, even more S&H Torino
Owners met in honor of Arthur at the Route 66 Mother Road Festival in Springfield, Illinois.
Thank you for taking time to check out Arthur's S&H Torino. He would have loved to have met you and talked
to you about it in person, and you would have been blessed if he had. |
